Former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao revealed she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder while pregnant with her first child

The Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up shared a photo of herself holding her ever-growing baby bump on Instagram Saturday. She is on her 25th week of pregnancy, which she said she was “enjoying every minute of it.”

“My belly is growing every week (now as big as a soccer ball) and I have started to feel my baby boy’s kicks becoming stronger and more frequent nowadays,” Quiambao said of her pregnancy.

However, one netizen going by @carolyne_vg noticed that Quiambao had bruises on her belly, and thought to ask the beauty queen herself.

In reply, Quiambao revealed she was diagnosed with Obstetric APAS/APS (Antiphospholipid Antibody)—an autoimmune disorder associated with pregnancy complications, according to the Medscape site.

To cope with the diagnosis, the beauty queen said she needs to inject an anticoagulant every night to help prevent blood clots.

In a previous post on Dec. 1, Quiambao detailed that she was advised to avoid long-distance and overseas trips since her pregnancy was considered as “high risk.” She added she had to cancel confirmed talks she had within the country and abroad.

“I was willing to do this for the sake of my miracle baby, but I have to say that I was beginning to grow restless staying in the city all the time,” Quiambao narrated.

Quiambao, 43, is currently expecting her first child with Christian author and motivational speaker Eduardo “Ardy” Roberto Jr. They are having a baby boy, as per a Philippine Entertainment Portal interview.  /ra
