Carla wants to spread holiday cheer

What is Carla Abellana’s most cherished Christmas memory?

“That would probably be when I was far from being an adult, enjoying Christmas tradition with my family at our grandmother’s home and receiving gifts from Santa,” said the actress, whose drama series “Pamilya Roces” is ending today.

Carla recounted that she, her sister and cousins would also perform numbers for the grown-ups at such gatherings: “We would choreograph a short dance for everyone and wear coordinated outfits, as well. Those were good Christmas days.”

As for what she wishes to give during the holidays, the Kapuso actress said, “I wish to comfort people who are hurting. I know that sounds vague, but I know many people have had a tough year and are not quite feeling the Christmas spirit. So, it would be nice to actually give them a little bit of comfort, somehow.”

The gift she’d like to get this Christmas, she added, is something similar.

“I could use some cheering up, too,” she said, elaborating, “It would be nice to get more time to spend with my dogs, my family and [my boyfriend], Tom (Rodriguez).”

Carla disclosed that she already has plans for the holiday break with family members: “Same as every year, I am spending it at my grandmother’s house.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
