When one thinks of Christmas, the word “gift” immediately comes to mind. Scouring Divisoria and high-end malls, people are on the lookout for the best possible items they can gift their loved ones. But are there still people who would rather give away non-material gifts, for a change?
Sanchez was rendered speechless when she was asked in an interview what non-material gift she will give her family this year, as per her Instagram post yesterday, Dec. 10. It was an interesting question indeed — one she probably had not thought of before.
“It dawned on me what is it really that doesn’t cost a cent that one can give but that is essential,” she wrote. “The answer is time.”
“Time is love,” she added. “Time is fleeting and irreplaceable. Can’t bring it back. It is precious. It is something I’ve not been able to give many people, most of all my family.”
In separate posts, Sanchez bonded with her family after admitting she was not able to give her time to her loved ones. Because one of her cousins, from New York, was in town, their family had an excuse to get together.
They started their reunion by drinking at Sanchez’s favorite bar in Raffles Hotel, which offers a great view of the illuminated Makati skyline. Sanchez and her family also struck wacky poses for a photo they will surely treasure. They also gathered before a sumptuous meal.
To cap off their night, Sanchez and her family dined at No. 8 China House located in Grand Hyatt Manila. The TV host was shocked by the automatic Lazy Susan. She also sang praises for the Chinese food the restaurant served.
At the end of their get-together, Sanchez restated the importance of time, urging her fans to give that one non-material gift to their loved ones.
“Time. It is the one non-material gift I recommend you give this season to loved ones,” she said. “Time is the most precious commodity of all.” JB
