“I don’t see it!” said teen actress Andrea Brillantes, when asked about some fans comparing her good looks to that of Liza Soberano. “Ang layo! She’s so beautiful. I don’t believe it, but to those who do, thank you. Nakakakilig, because Ate Liza is like a goddess.”

Meanwhile, asked if she ever feared that she would lose projects while going through the “awkward stage” most child stars experience, Andrea, who started in the biz at 7, said: “I didn’t feel anything like that. I just trust in God. If I have shows, I’m thankful. If I don’t, then I’ll just work harder.”

“I’m also lucky that I grew up with social media around,” she recently told reporters. “So, even if I don’t have shows, I can still turn to YouTube or Instagram.”

Andrea is currently part of the ABS-CBN soap “Kadenang Ginto,” in which she plays bratty Marga. Her  personality in real life, she said, couldn’t be more different. “Marga is spoiled, rich, whiny. But I’m happy that the fans know that what I do onscreen is just work.”

She said she enjoys playing challenging characters. “I actually find it easier doing more difficult roles. When the character is plain, it’s harder because you have to think of ways to make it more interesting,” Andrea said. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
