Kuya Kim helps save the environment

12:03 AM December 03, 2018

“It’s not too late to start thinking about how to save the environment,” declared Kim Atienza, TV host, weather anchor, and the Philippines’ ambassador to the recent National Geographic’s (Nat Geo) “Symphony for Our World” musical.

“What we are experiencing right now is the effect of centuries of abuse on Mother Nature, but we can still make Earth liveable for our children and the generations to come,” said Kim. “Promoting the (Nat Geo) event was one small way I could help change the situation.”

Kim said his job as a weather anchor for “TV Patrol” for 14 years has enabled him to see firsthand how climate change has affected the world.
“Weather was still considered soft news when I started. Now, people constantly want
to know more about what’s happening because extreme changes in the weather have affected our lives much more than we want them to,” said the host of the science-environmental educational show “Matanglawin.”—MARINEL R. CRUZ
