While going on a trip with friends and family can be a good way to unwind and pick up fresh ideas, for comedienne K Brosas, alone time is what helps her creative juices flowing.
Brosas acknowledged that alone time is an “acquired” taste as not many can spend time with only their selves as company, she stated on her Instagram post yesterday, Nov. 27. Still, she is bent on spending time with herself whenever her schedule permits.
Being alone not only allows Brosas to detox and de-stress, it also allows her to experience a catharsis like no other.
“Oo minsan mag-eemote ako mag isa na may sounds pa, ok lang yon kahit umiyak pa ako,” she wrote. “Iba din ang release non kahit wala namang pinagdadaanan kasi normal lang ma-sad ng walang matinding dahilan.”
(Yes, there are times when I let myself be sentimental, with sounds to match the mood. It’s okay even when I cry. There’s something different about the release of emotions, although I’m not experiencing anything bad, because it’s normal to be sad without a reason.)
Brosas said that alone time gets her creative juices flowing — she was able to finish her book, think of new materials for her shows and do vlogs while spending time with herself. She can also think about her finances better during her alone time.
“Anyway, try nyo kung kaya nyo,” she said, encouraging her fans. “Kasi sa opinion ko kahit ano pa ginagawa nyo o work… need nyo o deserve nyo manahimik na mag isa kahit sandali lang.”
(Anyway, try it if you can. In my opinion, even if you have a lot of things to do, you need or deserve to spend time alone even if only for a short time.)
Brosas is not the only local celebrity to express her love for alone time. Actress Jodi Sta. Maria said last October that she spends time with herself as part of her self-care routine. JB
