/ 12:06 AM November 26, 2018

Chris Cahilig’s short film “Pitaka” has won the best branded digital ad honor, the newest category in the annual Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA).

“Pitaka” promotes the values of sacrifice and perseverance as depicted in the breadwinner character played by Karl Medina, who sets aside his personal dreams to provide for his younger brother (Art Artienda).

The film’s narration, from a poem by Palanca-winning academician Louie Jon Sanchez, also won in the best illustrated poem category of the 2018 Wales International Film Festival in the United Kingdom on Oct. 4, Cahilig reported.—MARINEL R. CRUZ
