Anything goes in ‘POPSibilities’
Pops Fernandez is celebrating her nth debut on Dec 12. To make the Concert Queen’s fête extra special, she requested her close friends (divided into groups) to do a dance or song number.
The theme of the performance is “anything that reminds you about Pops.” Since I happen to be one of her friends from way back (long before her “Penthouse Live” days), I feel pressured because as I told Pipay (her nickname), “Girl, I’m a writer, not a performer.”
As she turns another year fiercer, Pops launches her online show, “POPSibilities.”
“We will post every week or every other week,” she says. “No concept and no script … that’s why its ‘pops-sibilities’—anything is ‘pops-sible.’”
Aside from that, she also has an international TV project in the works. This birthday girl is on fire!
Cheers, Pipay, to our friendship, three decades and counting. I’m forever in your corner.
Derek, John team up
John Estrada and Derek Ramsay are not just golf buddies. They’re now business partners. The hotties put up DJRE Entertainment Co. It is a full-service events and talent management agency. Join its basic and intense acting workshop starting Dec. 1 (for inquiries, call 0939-0370445). With John and Derek as mentors, how can budding actors not succeed?
Since I was an avid viewer of ABS-CBN’s defunct hit series, “A Love to Last,” I told Ian Veneracion that I wish it would have a sequel wherein his character (Anton) already has kids with his second wife, Andeng (Bea Alonzo). Ian liked my idea. Hopefully, the Kapamilya network will be keen on it, too.
PLDT and Smart presented their latest products at an event aptly themed “Unlock the Future.” Aside from its new home Fibr Google Wi-Fi Plan that puts an end to dead-end spots, it also launched PLDT home TVolution by Roku. The service features a new plug-and-play device for watching YouTube videos, HD channels from Cignal, iflix, Netflix and free streaming channels.
