The Weeknd’s Manila concert canceled

The upcoming concert of Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling music artist The Weeknd has been canceled.

Concert promoter MMI Live announced the news on Friday in a Facebook post and explained the event was called off due to production requirement issues.

“Due to production requirement issues, we regret to announce that The Weekend Live in Manila concert is now cancelled,” the announcement reads.

Refund of tickets will start on Tuesday, December 4, 10 a.m. until March 4, 2019, according to MMI Live.

“Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your continued patronage,” it added.

The Weeknd was supposed to hold the concert on December 7 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, is known for his songs “Can’t Feel My Face,” “The Hills,” “Often,” and “In The Night,” among others. /kga
