And Cardo Dalisay lives to tell the tale.
This, after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and ABS-CBN buried the hatchet following a “fruitful dialogue” held Wednesday regarding the network’s popular action-drama series “Ang Probinsyano.”
“Both parties were thankful for the chance to express their views directly to each other,” the DILG and ABS-CBN said in a joint statement released Thursday.
“DILG and its attached agency Philippine National Police (PNP) will continue to support ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ as it continues to inspire Filipinos with the valuable lesson that in the end, good will always triumph over evil,” it added.
In the statement, the PNP expressed the “importance of support and respect of the people to its organization while recognizing the network’s “freedom to create and convey the story of the program.”
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN said that “Ang Probinsyano” would continue to portray Cardo Dalisay, played by Coco Martin, “as a police officer with integrity.”
Days before the meeting, the DILG and the PNP threatened to sue the producers of “Ang Probinsyano” because of its negative portrayal of the police force.
The PNP recently withdrew its support for the hit TV series, including a pull out of equipment, personnel and facilities. /cbb
