Marvel stars mourn Stan Lee on social media

Marvel superheroes and casts paid tribute to the late Marvel legend Stan Lee who died Monday (Tuesday in the Philippines) at age 95.

Messages poured on Twitter and Instagram for the creator of many superheroes who’s widely considered as the “architect of the contemporary comic book.”

Tom Holland who plays Spider-man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe took to Instagram to praise the Marvel legend.

“How many millions of us are indebted to this guy, none more so than me. The father of Marvel has made so many people so incredibly happy. What a life and what a thing to have achieved,” Holland wrote on Tuesday.

Ironman Robert Downey Jr. also shared a photo with Lee in an Instagram post captioned: “I owe it all to you,,, Rest In Peace Stan…”

Meanwhile, Captain America Chris Evans expressed how Lee’s creations cater to both young and old.

“There will never be another Stan Lee. For decades he provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy,” Evans wrote in an Twitter post.

Mark Ruffalo, who played The Incredible Hulk, said Lee made the world a “better place through the power of modern mythology and your love of this messy business of being human.”

In a separate tweet with a photo of him and Marvel co-stars Downey, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth, he wrote: “You let us be extra human… superhuman even. I am deeply honored to have been a small part in the Stan Lee constellation.”

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds also paid tribute to the Marvel legend with a tweet saying, “RIP Stan. Thanks for everything.”

Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Chris Pratt thanked Lee and said he considers himself “lucky” to be part of the legend’s Cinematic Universe.

“Thanks for everything Stan Lee! What a life, so well lived. I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to have gotten to meet you and to have played in the world you created,” Pratt wrote in a tweet.

Wolverine of Marvel Comics Hugh Jackman said “We’ve lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and …. to have helped bring one of his characters to life.”

Nick Fury from movie Ironman Samuel Jackson thanked Lee for “the escape from this world & great joy inhabiting the ones you created!!”

“You made so many believe in the good, the heroic, the villainous, the exciting, most of all, you were giving & gracious to us all,” Jackson added.

Angela Bassett who played Ramonda in the film Black Panther wrote: “Onward and upward to greater glory!  Excelsior!  Good man, Excelsior!”

Also from Black Panther, Winston Duke who played M’Baku thanked the Marvel legend for the characters that “continue to stand the test of time and evolve with our consciousness.”

Duke added: “You taught us that there are no limits to our future as long as we have access to our imagination.” /cbb
