Romnick Sarmenta to children: ‘You just want to be in their lives’
Actor Romnick Sarmenta became emotional as he talked about what kind of father he wants to be for his children.
“Syempre gusto mong maramdaman nila na nandyan ka, na mahal mo sila, na kahit anong pagdaanan nila, you’re going to be a part of their lives,” Sarmenta said Friday during an interview in the morning show “Magandang Buhay.”
The ‘90s matinee idol added that even if a parent can’t advise on whatever their children are going through, at least he’s there to listen.
He realized: “I have a 5-year-old and I’m 46, soon I will be 50. Iniisip ko lang pagdating niya ng 25, ilang taon ako and how much more I can do for her?”
Sarmenta added how only the father “up there” is the perfect one, but “hindi mo maalis na gustuhin mong magawa ‘yung the best para sa mga anak mo.”
“Para sa akin it’s such a gift to be given these many children and to be entrusted this much by being able to just be in their lives and you wanna be there,” he said.
