Will we get to see John Cena as the next Captain America?

The WWE Superstar posted a photo of the Cap’s shield on Instagram last Sunday, Nov. 4. Cena however did not include a caption to explain the image.

This led netizens to speculate whether or not he will be the next one to sport the superhero’s costume, such as one @kev_l21.

Meanwhile, there are those who expressed hopes that the wrestler will not be the next one to play the Marvel character.

Another netizen, @manu_27641, thinks that Cena may voice the hero in an upcoming series.

Last March, Chris Evans said he was ready to hang up his shield as Captain America, stating that he has no plans of playing the hero again, after he did reshoots for the fourth “Avengers” film.

He then posted on Twitter that he has “officially wrapped” on the upcoming sequel to “Avengers: Infinity War”.

“It was an emotional day, to say the least. Playing this role over the last [eight] years has been an honor,” Evans said. JB
