TV personalities Christine Bersola-Babao and husband Julius Babao gave their fans a delightful peek into their famous bird-inspired house.
Christine made use of her YouTube page to treat her fans to the first part of a virtual tour of their house on Saturday, Nov. 3. Called “Casa Uccello” which is the Italian word for “birdhouse,” the couple’s home has captured the attention of fans and art lovers alike for its bird-inspired furniture and art pieces.
Visitors of Casa Uccello will be welcomed by the family’s two pet birds, Nion Green and Nigel.

Christine proudly presented their front door handle made with brass electroplated in copper, by sculptor Daniel de la Cruz. The handle, which acts as a tree’s trunk, houses four birds representing the Babao family — Christine, Julius and their children, Anya and Nio.

Casa Uccello visitors will be amazed by their “birdie chandelier” conceptualized by German industrial designer Ingo Maurer.

A peak in their coffee bar-kitchen reveals dinnerware with, of course, bird designs. Christine divulged that she does not dare wash the decorative mugs they have, as they are quite expensive.

Even their dining table is inspired by birds. Babao said the table’s legs remind him of “Sesame Street” character Big Bird’s legs.

Above the dining table lies a nest design of bent yellow aluminum by architect Jason Buensalido.

Aside from its bird-inspired furniture, fixtures and dinnerware, Casa Uccello is known for various other bird-related art pieces it contains.

Christine uses the hashtag “#homemuseum” whenever she posts photos of their home. True to the words, Casa Uccello is both a home and a museum in one. JB
