A romantic-comedy the premise of which revolves around love for food… That is brilliant! Who doesn’t love food, anyway? So, that setup alone for Regal Entertainment, Inc.’s latest movie offering ‘Recipe For Love’ is sure to whet one’s appetite and curiosity as to what possibly this movie is going to be more about besides the universal love for food?

‘Recipe For Love’ stars Christian Bables fresh from the local and international critical acclaim his lead starring role in ‘Signal Rock’ has received and the numerous awards ‘Signal Rock’ won and which said movie, by the way, has been selected to represent the Philippines in the foreign language film category for the upcoming 91st Academy Awards.

It is definitely worth highlighting the versatility displayed by Christian Bables–from his dramatic characterization in ‘Signal Rock’ to his current light-hearted role he portrays in ‘Recipe For Love’–which speaks of his acting range–that he can switch gears effortlessly making him one of the more truly versatile young actors around today in Philippine Cinema. The guy is proving to be a very credible and dependable young actor who is steadily building an impressive body of work to his name.

FEATURED STORIES

Paired up with Christian Bables is the tall, beamy-eyed, and gorgeous Cora Waddell who is making her Regal movie debut after her five-year stint with another Filipino film production company where she got to be casted in only two movies merely in supporting roles capacity.

Cora Waddell fits a certain mold and look that makes her suitable to be a leading lady in any romantic or comedy-themed movie. And with ‘Recipe For Love’ she steps up to be a leading lady this time. With all that said, this will be a new beginning for the movie career of Cora Waddell.

A fresh start, if you will, this is for her. And what a way to go being paired up with a multi-awarded young actor such as Christian Bables. I hope Cora Waddell delivers here because she has to be able to make her mark in her first movie under the Regal banner. Yes, the pressure is naturally there; she should be able to handle it.

It is worth mentioning that Sophie Albert is also a part of this cast in a supporting role and I find this very intriguing. Her casting got my attention and certainly her “live wire” presence adds a different facet and dimension to this upcoming movie.

Sophie Albert is a huge plus because she is naturally funny, amusing to watch, and you can tell that she is a true character on television. And maybe in real life, too?

She is one of the growing number of young female comedic actresses who are not self-conscious at all of themselves and are perfectly comfortable on camera to be as goofy, silly, and comical as they want to be… the very qualities that endear themselves to the fans, and even non-fans.

We just have to see if Sophie Albert will be able to pull off a similar comedic routine in ‘Recipe For Love’ she is known in the programs she appears on television. Or will we get to see only a bit of that? Either way, I think she is an excellent cast member to have.

Now, in ‘Recipe For Love’ my educated guess is that there is not going to be any drama here. And if there should be, it would only be a little bit of it reserved for the more serious scenes. Or it could just be a more satirical representation of drama acting meant to amuse the moviegoers. We have to wait and see to know what we will really get once this movie gets released to the moviegoing public to watch.

Lastly, how will the onscreen partnership of  Christian Bables and Cora Waddell work and play out in ‘Recipe For Love’? I honestly can’t give an estimate on that because the official full-length trailer showed very little of the both of them together so I can’t even get a sense of how their chemistry will be like in the movie.

Usually, when that happens it could mean a few things. More often than not, it means the lead stars have a lot of special scenes together that are only meant to be shown in cinemas for the moviegoers.

‘Recipe For Love’ from Regal Entertainment, Inc. officially marks the first time that Christian Bables and Corra Waddel will be in a movie together.

‘Recipe for Love’ stars Christian Bables, Cora Waddell, Myrtle Sarrosa, Sophie Albert, Enrico Cuenca, Agot Isidro, Bing Loyzaga and Ogie Diaz. ‘Recipe For Love’ is produced by Regal Entertainment, Inc.
This movie is directed by Jose Javier Reyes.
‘Recipe for Love’ is scheduled for a nationwide release on November 21, 2018.
