For action star Robin Padilla, nothing is more sickening than the repeated cycle of Filipinos voting for traditional politicians as well as celebrities turned politicians.
Uploading a photo of himself in a rally held on Oct. 26 at Ayala Avenue to protest the killings of indigenous people leaders in Mindanao allegedly by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), Padilla recounted on a Facebook post on Friday, Nov. 2 how he had invited a lot of people and their respective organizations to join the said rally. This was apparently done to inform Metro Manilla dwellers of what is happening in Mindanao. Unfortunately, not a single one of those he invited showed up.
When he asked why the said people failed to make an appearance, he learned that some were pro-Communists, while others were busy with their personal lives. He then wondered what exactly these people and their organizations were fighting for.
“Nakakasuka ang pagiging masyadong pulitiko ng ating mga pinuno maging makakaliwa at makakanan pero mas lalong nakakasuka ang pagiging tanga ng mga botanteng Pilipino sa paulit ulit na paghalal sa mga trapo na ito lalo ang mga artistang katulad ko na nagagamit sa oras ng eleksyon at ta* sa oras ng tunay at totoong pakikibaka,” Padilla wrote.
(The way both our left and right [wing] leaders politicize everything is disgusting. But Filipinos’ stupidity in electing these trapos, most especially celebrities like me who are used during elections and are sh*t when it comes to facing the real struggle, is more sickening.)
“Frankly there is no hope for our indigenous tribes we are worst (sic) than the foreign invaders,” he continued.” “Sometimes it makes me wonder what the f*** happened to us? Ang yabang natin sumigaw ng freedom at independence pero alam ba natin talaga ang ibig sabihin nito?”
(Frankly, there is no hope for our indigenous tribes as we are worse than foreign invaders. Sometimes it makes me wonder what the f*** happened to us? We proudly shout freedom and independence, but do we really know what these mean?)
In the comments section of his post, Padilla revealed that he deleted some comments with violence or threats involved.

“Paumanhin sa mga naburang komento,” Padilla said. “Mga kapanalig iwasan po natin ang violence o banta batid ko na punong puno na rin kayo pero wag po tayong bumaba sa lebel ng mga taong hindi mulat at alipin ng kasinungalingan at pulitika.”
