Spotlight on Elyssa Garcia

Freelance artist Elyssa Garcia is just one of the countless young people who aspire and wish to become a full-time artist. Elyssa Garcia is well aware that there are so many like her but this fact does not dampen her spirit but rather motivates her even more.

Elyssa Garcia may be new to the entertainment industry but she has shown surprising maturity beyond her years. That for me makes her quite unique from the rest of her young peers who are also trying to make it in the entertainment industry. I see potential in her. There is also that feistiness about her which will serve her well down the road as she takes her journey in the entertainment industry. That is why I have decided to do a feature on her.

I do seek out those who I believe deserve a shot at fame, a push in the right direction, or that much needed boost in their careers as an artist. And I still do this because I know it is the right thing to do and it is something I have always championed for, for many years already.

This is Elyssa Garcia’s very first solo feature and interview done with her.

QUESTION: What/who first inspired you to get into acting?

Elyssa Garcia: My parents inspired me to act.

QUESTION: Complete this phrase:Ten years from now, I will be __?

Elyssa Garcia: Hoping to become a successful woman and all of my dreams will have come true.

QUESTION: What are your long-term career goals?

Elyssa Garcia: For my long term career goals, if being an actress will not be a success for me I will pursue modelling career.

QUESTION: Do you want to become a movie star?

Elyssa Garcia: If I have an opportunity, of course, I will grab it. I want to be a movie star!

QUESTION: Have you appeared in any television show?

Elyssa Garcia: Yes. I appeared in the television show ‘Follow Your Heart’ with Heart Evangelista. I was the one who did the mechanics of the game. And also in the MMFF movie of ‘Meant To Beh’ starring Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta, I played the role of the friend of Sue Ramirez there.

QUESTION: If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

Elyssa Garcia: 1.) Car 2.) My own House and lot 3.) Business 4.) Family insurance 5.) Gadgets.

QUESTION: What do you feel most proud of?

Elyssa Garcia: I am proud of being confident.

QUESTION: What is your nickname?

Elyssa Garcia: My friends usually call me Ely, Elys, Apsi or Joyce.

QUESTION: Do you know how to play any musical instrument?

Elyssa Garcia: Yes, I know how to play guitar but a little bit.

QUESTION: If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, what would it be?

Elyssa Garcia: I would love to be Liza Soberano “Serena” of Dolce Amore.

QUESTION: What animal best represents you, and why is that?

Elyssa Garcia: Dog. Because I am very caring, loving and protective of my family.

QUESTION: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?

Elyssa Garcia: If there is an opportunity to give me power, I want the power to restore the past. I will use it for my grandfather to find out who killed him to justify his death.

QUESTION: If you could bring back one artist / actor from the dead, who would it be and why?

Elyssa Garcia: Dolphy. Also known as “King of Comedy” because he gave so much laughter and happiness in this world.

QUESTION: If you could bring one fictional character to life, who would it be and why?

Elyssa Garcia: From the book, ‘Hell University’. I think Ace Craig “Supremo” because even if he is the toughest person in their university, when it comes to his girlfriend “Zein” he becomes the opposite of it.

QUESTION: If you could choose an artist to be linked to, who would you choose and why?

Elyssa Garcia: I like Jane Oineza. But if there a chance na ma-link ako kay Liza Soberano… Kasi like Liza, she is very caring and napaka down-to-earth na tao. She loves her family, supporters. And even her bashers. Haha.

QUESTION: Who is your showbiz crush?

Elyssa Garcia: Jane Oineza.

QUESTION: Would you go on a date with Jane Oineza if given the chance?

Elyssa Garcia: That is a Biggggg YESSSSS!!!!!

QUESTION: What are the qualities you have which you feel set you apart from all the other young female local actresses we have now?

Elyssa Garcia: The qualities that I have is that I am very confident of myself and I am contented with who I am. I am not saying all other young female actresses are not confident and not contented but most of them aren’t. That’s the truth because there are a lot who change some features of their faces or body.

QUESTION: Do you plan to make acting a full-time career?

Elyssa Garcia: Yes, I’m planning to make acting a full-time career.

QUESTION: Who is Elyssa Garcia in a nutshell?

Elyssa Garcia: I am a soft-hearted daughter and a very down to earth person.
