Why Pia Wurtzbach agreed to be the sexy calendar girl of a liquor drink
I now want to look strong,” declared Pia Wurtzbach, who said her goal has gone beyond looking sexy ever since she won the 2015 Miss Universe crown.
During her recent launch as the newest calendar girl of Ginebra San Miguel, Pia said: “I want to feel confident and good about myself. That’s why I wanted to do this campaign right. I don’t want to look as if I simply rushed myself into getting fit just so I could do the photo shoot. I wanted to represent the brand and myself in a way that looks strong.”
When Pia found out that she was to have a pictorial for the brand’s 2019 calendar, she said she requested for three weeks to prepare. “They were gracious enough to give me that time. I was able to do it,” she beamed.
While in the process of preparing, Pia realized that “I feel better and stronger. I don’t want it (fitness routine) to end just because the photo shoot is finished. I wanted to continue with my fitness journey.”
She claimed to have other goals now. “Next year, I want to see if I have what it takes to join a marathon. I want to see how far I can go with my body. I always tell myself that I will be fit, but it never happens.”

You can have a great trainer, but if you go home and don’t follow and you’re not consistent, nothing will happen.”

Pia said her boyfriend, race car driver Marlon Stockinger, who is also very much into fitness, would sometimes work out with her. As to how Marlon reacted to Pia’s eye-popping calendar photos, she replied: “He’s very proud. He knows that I prepared for this. He is aware of how proud I am for finally getting fit the right way.”
The ABS-CBN contract artist announced that she had already begun taping for a new reality show. She has also met with Star Cinema execs for another movie project. “We haven’t talked about who the leading man would be,” she added.
Asked what advice she can give other women who, like her, struggled or are struggling with life’s challenges, the 29-year-old said: “Just keep trying to work on achieving what you’ve always wanted to do… I always share my story with other people. I hope I get to share more. I also don’t think my story ends with winning the Miss Universe crown. I plan to keep challenging myself. I have other dreams that I still want to achieve.”
