The post did not mention whether Domingo will reprise her role while she directs, nor was there any mention of Rivera’s and scriptwriter Chris Martinez’s involvement in the new project. It merely teased fans to stand by for additional details at a later date.

“Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” was an independently produced film that turned out to be a big hit among moviegoers. It premiered on July 21, 2011, and starred Domingo, JM de Guzman, Kean Cipriano and Cai Cortez. The film won the Best Picture award at the 7th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. It also took home the awards for Best Screenplay, Audience Choice, Best Performance of an Actress (Domingo) and Best Director. Domingo also won the People’s Choice Awards – Favorite Actress award at the 6th Asian Film Awards in 2012.

Its sequel “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 2: #ForeverIsNotEnough” was released on Dec. 25, 2016. Domingo reprised her role as the actress Romina, along with a new cast that included Joel Torre, Jericho Rosales and Agot Isidro. Cipriano and Cortez also returned to reprise their roles in the first film.  /ra
