Actor Robin Padilla conveyed his support for Special Assistant to the President Bong Go about the latter’s candidacy for senator. He also expressed his disappointment over the news of former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque dropping his senatorial bid.

“Mabuhay mga kapanalig sa Katipunan! Ang aking unang senador!” wrote Padilla on Instagram yesterday, Oct. 15 . “Isang karangalan ang isulat ang iyong pangalan sa muli kong pagkakaroon ng karapatan para bumoto. Tanggapin mo ang aking katapatan aking kaibigan at kumpare Bong Go kasama mo ako sa iyong mga ipaglalaban.”

(Long live the allies of the Katipunan! My first senator! It is a pleasure to write your name in the second chance I was given to vote. Accept my loyalty, my close friend Bong Go. I am with you in your fight.)

Padilla said that the reason why the supporters of the current administration should vote for Go is that he knows President Rodrigo Duterte best. He pointed out that Go is the closest and the most loyal out of all the people serving the President.

“Siya lang ang tunay na magiging boses ni Mayor sa Senado,” he stated. “Mabuhay ka senador Bong Go!”

(He will be the only true voice of Mayor [Duterte] in the Senate. Long live senator Bong Go!)

In a separate post, Padilla lamented Roque’s dropping of his senatorial bid. Roque is set to run for a seat in the House of Representatives under the Luntiang Pilipinas party instead.

“Isang malaking kawalan sa Senado ang taong ito,” he said. “Nakapanlulumo ang balitang ito.”

(This person is a big loss to the Senate. This news is devastating.)

“Napakaraming pagmumukha dyan sa Senado ang dapat wala na dyan! (There are many faces in the Senate who should not be there anymore!)” the former action star said. JB
