LOOK: Ai-Ai delas Alas attends American Music Awards
The American Music Awards brings top music stars together every year—and in the audience this year was actress and comedian Ai-Ai delas Alas.
The AMAs were held today (Oct. 9 in Los Angeles) at the Microsoft Theater.
Delas Alas dressed for the occasion: she looked like a pop star herself in a black studded jacket, leather pants, red ankle boots and a blonde bob. With her was husband Gerald Sibayan.

En route to the event, the comedian was clearly thrilled: “Excited ako first time makakakita ako ng mga sikat na singers and artist (I’m excited, it will be my first time to see famous singers and artists),” she said on Instagram.
She shared a view of the opening act, who was no less than Taylor Swift performing “I Did Something Bad.”

Delas Alas also posted photos of the winners including Camila Cabello, Khalid, Post Malone and Shawn Mendes.
“Winners of AMA congratulations (feeling close hehe),” she wrote.

Winners at the AMAs are based on popular public opinion, with votes made through the AMAs website, rather than by one award-giving body.

She completed the memorable day with a selfie with the AMAs stage and wrote about how she admired Taylor Swift’s dedication to her craft after she won Artist of the Year. Swift made a sweep at the awards with Tour of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and Favorite Album – Pop/Rock. /ra

“Happy day today… napakasayang [experience] nito (This was such a happy experience),” delas Alas gushed.
“Madami akong nakitang bago and natutuwa ako kay Taylor Swift sya kasi ang nanalo ng ARTIST OF THE YEAR… sa speech nya sabi nya ill do better and work harder… yan ang totoong passion,” she said of the “Reputation” pop singer.
(I saw so many new [artists] and I was happy with Taylor Swift because she won Artist of the Year… in her speech she said I’ll do better and work harder… that’s true passion.)
But still, there is one artist that is No. 1 in her heart. “Pero syempre una padin saken si Donya JLO.” (But of course, Doña J.Lo (Jennifer Lopez) will always be first to me.)
As for who had the most fun at the show, perhaps that award could go to Delas Alas. /ra
