News anchor and entertainment reporter Gretchen Fullido has been a hot topic lately after she recently sued ABS-CBN colleagues for sexual harassment, libel and victim shaming.

In a news release shared on Facebook by her lawyer, Marvin Aceron, Fullido filed the sexual harassment complaint last Friday, Oct. 5, against former ABS-CBN news executive Cheryl Favila and news segment producer Maricar Asprec. She, too, filed libel charges against ABS-CBN news executives Ces Drilon and Venancio Borromero, as well as reporter Marie Lozano for allegedly damaging her reputation.

Many have since offered their support to Fullido–celebrities and reporters alike–who took to social media where they aired their sentiments. Among them were actress Melissa Ricks and Jerika Ejercito (daughter of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada), as well as comedian Ethel Booba.

ABS-CBN news anchor Karen Davila herself took to Twitter to say that she doesn’t condone sexual harassment and any form of victim shaming, and managed to  do so without taking any of the involved parties’ sides.

Now, veteran talent manager and columnist Lolit Solis has taken to social media to give her own take, echoing Davila’s statement regarding the issue.

For Solis, Fullido’s sexual harassment has polarized people working together and wished they were able to talk it out instead of letting it all blow up.

“Kung iisipin mo itong kaso ni Gretchen naging dahilan ng polarizing among people working together. Sana naayos ng mabuti, napag-usapan , at hindi lumaki nang ganito,” Solis wrote on Instagram today, Oct. 9.

“Dun sa portion ni Gretchen sa TV Patrol iba-ibang stars na ang nagpi-pitch in, para bang unti-unti nang ini ease out si Gretchen, kaya nang pumutok ang balita iyon dahilan lang ang ikinabigla ng lahat.”

Solis further shared that it would be difficult now to remove Fullido from the network without making her look like she was oppressed or “inapi.”

“But puwede bang maging comfortable working pag may feeling ka na ill at ease? Iyon feeling na parang na divide mo ang departamento n’yo? How will you feel na parang people are talking behind your back?”

Despite the issue, however, Solis believes that the people involved in the sexual harassment will be able to overcome this upheaval. They are, after all, news people.

“Mga taga-news iyan. Matitibay, sanay sa intriga, survivor lahat iyan,” Solis said in confidence. “Hoping for happy ending sa case na ito.”

And in Lolit Solis fashion, she added in jest, “Ang susunod naman daw intriga sa radyo. Hah hah exciting days talaga.”  /ra
