Romnick Sarmenta and Harlene Bautista split

Celebrity couple Romnick Sarmenta and Harlene Bautista have confirmed their separation after being married for 19 years.

“With the greatest respect and mutual love, wanting nothing but happiness for each other we have decided to part ways,” the couple said in a joint statement published by PEP.ph on Friday.

While they did  not disclose any reason for their separation, the report said Sarmenta and Bautista appealed for their privacy and their children’s.

“Being public figures, we know that this will not go unnoticed—and we didn’t want speculations, rumours and gossips to destroy the wonderful memories we share, the peace that we continue to have as best friends,” the  report said, still quoting the two.

Sarmenta and Bautista tied the knot in 1999 through a civil marriage. In 2000, they had a church wedding and renewed their vows two year later. /kga
