Josh Groban flattered to be Katy Perry’s ‘one that got away’

How does Josh Groban feel about being Katy Perry’s “the one that got away”?

In a recent interview on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” the singer-theater actor was asked by a fan, via phone patch, about his reaction to Katy Perry’s revelation last year that her hit “The One that Got Away” was actually inspired by him.

Josh admitted that they did date for a while in the past, but have since been good friends.

“We were both very private, and so we realized that we’re better as friends. We have been very good friends to this day,” he said, adding that Katy’s revelation came as a surprise to him.

“I wasn’t expecting that. That was a double take and a spit of my coffee when I saw that,” Josh added. “I’m very flattered by it. But I was very surprised by it, too.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
