Maroon 5, the American band known for its ever-changing take on pop and rock music, will take the stage anew at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on March 5, 2019, according to the local promoter MMI Live.
Tickets go on sale on Sept. 24; call 4702222. Members of the Maroon Fan Club, meanwhile, can get their tickets earlier—from Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. to Sept. 23 at 11:59 p.m.
The upcoming show—Maroon 5’s fifth in Manila—is part of the seven-man group’s ongoing world tour, “Red Pill Blues,” which kicked off this year in support of its sixth studio album of the same title.
The new record has so far spawned the singles “What Lovers Do” featuring R&B artist SZA, “Wait,” as well as the band’s current hit song, “Girls Like You.” Featuring hip-hop star Cardi B, “Girls” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is Maroon 5’s 14th Top 10 hit overall.
Led by Adam Levine, Maroon 5, has dabbled with different musical styles with each album—pop, rock, grunge, disco, electro-pop and funk.
The band is also behind such hits as “She Will Be Loved,” “This Love,” “Makes Me Wonder,” “Moves Like Jagger,” “Sunday Morning” and “Payphone.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
