Bonnie Aarons, who plays the titular villainess Valak in “The Nun,” was recently asked: Is she a fan of Halloween?
“Of course! Bring it on. Bring on the monsters and the candy,” the 39-year-old American actress animatedly told HorrorBuzz prior to a screening of “The Nun.”
Aarons, whose favorite candy is black licorice, is still unsure about her costume for Halloween, but said that she may dress up as another popular screen villain.
“I haven’t decided yet—maybe Chucky!” said the actress, who added that she could also play another “Child’s Play” character. “Maybe [Tiffany], the bride of Chucky!”
Aarons, who appeared in “The Princess Diaries” and “Mulholland Drive” years before appearing in “The Conjuring” spin-off, opined about the positive reception of audiences to recent horror movies.
“It totally makes sense because horror films are good for people’s health. You get an adrenaline rush—I’ve had lots of people tell me that it gets them out of depression,” she told entertainment site Nuke The Fridge in 2017.
“You get so much adrenaline, endorphins going—if you go to the movies even by yourself [for] a horror film, people in the theater are all together. You jump and you’re scared. And you laugh at yourself for being scared!” —OLIVER PULUMBARIT
