Vocal on issues like gun violence, women’s rights and the separation of asylum-seeking parents and children, actress Alyssa Milano is confronted by haters in her social media accounts on a regular basis. But, she isn’t backing down.
“Hey, trolls [who] keep asking me why I don’t care about legal citizens as much as I do ‘illegals’—f**k off,” she wrote on Twitter last week.
The “Insatiable” actress added, “My caring knows no bounds. You are literally talking about obligatory lines in the sand that separate us. We are all humans. Stop trying to gerrymander my empathy.”
Milano encouraged followers to support a nonprofit group in another tweet: “Due process is a fundamental right. I’m proud to stand with [the Vera Institute] to announce #SafeFamiliesFund, a fund to ensure legal representation for immigrant families facing deportation.”
The former “Charmed” star is also an ally of the LGBTQ community. —OLIVER PULUMBARIT
