Singer-host-actor Iñigo Pascual gave one of his fans an unforgettable experience when he surprised her with a visit at the hospital where she is confined. The meeting between Pascual and his fan, Arnie Espina, was shared on YouTube last Aug. 30 in fellow artist Migz Haleco’s online show “Wander Jam with Migz.”
In the video, Pascual and Haleco can be seen arriving at Ospital ng Makati to meet Arnie and her family. Arnie was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia last February and has been confined in the hospital since.
The surprise was a first for both Pascual and Haleco, who admitted that they’d never done such a surprise before for a fan. The meeting was one that brought tears to Pascual and Arnie, who became emotional the moment the boys walked into her hospital room.
Pascual went over to Arnie’s bed and hugged her as she cried on his shoulder.
“Gusto lang namin i-surprise ka and kantahan ka ng konti. Gusto ko rin magpasalamat syempre sa lahat... Thank you dahil nakukuha ko yung inspiration from you…,” Pascual said before pausing to compose himself.
Moments later, Pascual and Haleco treated Arnie to a song, with Haleco taking to his guitar to play Pascual’s “Dahil Sa’yo.” As Pascual sang beside Arnie, the 15-year-old girl cried tears of joy on his shoulder.
“Thank you for inspiring us, sobrang na inspire kami… First time ko din to, first time niya, and you inspired a lot of people,” Haleco told Arnie after their song.
Pascual, meanwhile, gave Arnie some memorabilia to remember him by. Apart form a shirt and his cap, he gave her
a jacket. They, too, took the time to take pictures of each other.
Pascual took to his Instagram to talk about his experience in meeting Arnie last Aug. 30, writing that Arnie gave his song a new meaning.
“Salamat sa inspirasyon Arnie,” said Pascual. “Ikaw ay isa sa mga taong nagpapaalala saking kung bakit ko ginagawa ang ginagawa ko. Nagpapsalamat ako sa Diyos dahil nakilala kita. Magiging matapang tayo at lalaban tayo ah @arnieespina.”
Pascual also took the opportunity to remind his fans to always help others when they can and spread joy to people.
“I want to encourage young people to go out there and help anyone they can. Make people smile,” Pascual said. “It’ll give life a whole different meaning. When you are put in the position to reach out, use it. Appreciate life, appreciate the simple joys.” /ra
