Juliana Gomez shares letter mom Lucy wrote 16 years ago for her 18th birthday

The única hija of Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres is now a young lady as she celebrated her 18th birthday last Sept. 8 with a disco-themed affair that had her boogying in retro fashion.
But aside from her cool party over the weekend that marked her turning 18, Juliana shared on Sept. 10 a letter her mom Lucy wrote to her 16 years ago just for this special occasion.
In her Instagram post, she showed photos of the letter that her mother wrote to her, written on Sept. 10, 2002, along with pictures of her as a toddler during a taping at GMA-7 for the “Sis” talk show.
“On this day,” Juliana wrote.

“My dearest Juliana. You’re 18 years old now and at this point you’re most probably faced with decisions that will be crucial to your future,” Lucy’s letter began. “Lift all up to God, who is your best friend.”
“By now, you must have fallen in love already. Enjoy your first kiss but don’t get swept off your feet ’till you’re sure he’s the one. Don’t be scared to let me know — I’ll help you explain to daddy.”
Lucy, too, reminded Juliana that they love her with no boundaries. “We love you with a love that knows no boundaries. Remember to ask for God’s guidance and Mary’s protection at all times — this way you’ll never go wrong. Mommy.”
Apart from the 16-year-old letter from her mom, Juliana also received a sweet message from her dad, Richard. He, however, took the millennial route with his message by posting it on Instagram on Sept. 10.
In his post, Richard shared a picture of him, Juliana and Lucy during Juliana’s birthday party last Sept. 8.
“To my dearest Juliana, know that you are the best thing that ever happened to me and mom. You are truly a bearer of joy to everyone,” Richard wrote. “I wish you your heart’s desire, the best in life and the best of health.”

But while Lucy gave advice on love, Richard advised Juliana to choose wisely the kind of people she surrounds herself with.
“Now that you are 18 choose the kind of friends and people you are with,” he said. “When given a chance to decide on something always decide on what will give you peace and happiness.”
He, too, told her to continue to be nice and helpful to people. “Always remember that we love you very very much! To me and mom you will always be that beautiful little girl no matter how old you get. I love you!” /ra
