Megastar Sharon Cuneta found herself overcome with emotions during her appearance at “Gandang Gabi, Vice!” over the weekend when the topic came to her ex-husband Gabby Concepcion.

At one point in the segment, Vice Ganda flashed a picture of Concepcion on the screen, to which Cuneta replied with a “No comment” in between laughter. She then became tearful afterwards, but clarified to Vice Ganda and the audience that what hurt the most for her was that she could’ve given their daughter KC a perfect life.

Alam mo yung masakit sa akin more than anything is I could’ve given KC sana, if everything lang was in my hands, yung kaya ko talagang ayusin lahat, sana perpekto yung buhay ng anak ko,” shared Cuneta last Sept. 9. “Kaya lang parang dinamay pa namin yung bata. So, she was born into a situation na she didn’t choose so I think parang masakit lang,”

(You know what hurts the most for me more than anything is I could’ve given KC, if everything was in my hands and I could fix everything, a perfect life. However, it seems as if we dragged the child into the issue. So, she was born into a situation that she didn’t choose and that hurts).

Vice Ganda, however, told Cuneta that KC most likely understands that she and Gabby didn’t mean to hurt her. “Pero for sure KC knows na wala kayong intensyon na magka-ganon, na masaktan siya, it just happened (But for sure, KC knows that you and Gabby didn’t intend to hurt her, it just happened).”

“It just happened, which she didn’t deserve,” Cuneta replied.

(What really hurts was after we got married, that was all I really wanted. I felt as if I found my prince because my life was already a fairy tale, this is the pinnacle. I didn’t want anything else in life, I just wanted my life to be him and the child.)

As Cuneta wiped her tears, she clarified to the audience again that she was only emotional because she remembered KC. Vice Ganda, on the other hand, comforted her and told her that as humans, we only know what we want in life, not what we deserve.

Diyos ang may alam kung ano ang deserved natin. At yun ang mahalaga, na makuha mo ang deserved mo, hindi ang gusto mo,” said Vice Ganda.

Cuneta, however, added that she hopes she and Concepcion are okay. “Tsaka yun din… feeling ko, yun lang, sana okay kami.”

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda asked Cuneta what’s one question she’d like to ask Concepcion.

Cuneta replied in jest, “So, hello… Anyare? K na eh. Anyare?

It was 1984 when Cuneta and Concepcion tied the knot. Their wedding was considered a historical feat not just in the world of show biz but also in the entire nation as loyal fans tuned into the grandest ceremony of the hottest love team of that generation. Their fairy-tale story, however, was short-lived as they separated just two years after their wedding. Today, Cuneta and Concepcion have families of their own and remain civil with each other.  /ra
