Bea Alonzo joins the roster of celebrities who are sharpening their culinary expertise.
The actress recently finished a short course on baking at the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) Manila in Quezon City. To celebrate her accomplishment, she held a graduation dinner at the center on Saturday, Sept. 8.
She treated guests to pastries, including a cake and giveaways of her baked goods in jars, which she branded with “By Bea.”
The sumptuous courses served were salmon gravlax with dill mustard sauce, asparagus bundle, black truffle sabayon and chicken chasseur with potato nest, as per the event’s menu.
Within the kitchen area, a rustic-style dinner spread was set. A string of Edison lightbulbs brought warmth to the venue while a variety of white flowers made the setup look fresh.
Those close to Alonzo attended the intimate occasion, including actor Gerald Anderson, her rumored sweetheart.
Alonzo opened up on her journey in taking professional baking classes on her Instagram account, stating that she had been hesitant to learn baking because she felt pressure to be perfect at it.
“But this year, I promised myself that I will do things that intimidates or scares (sic) me. I promised myself that I will learn new things and try to go out of my comfort zone,” she said.
“I felt like a kid again learning a new skill. It made me feel good that I was enriching myself with new knowledge and also gaining new friends in the process,” Alonzo added. “It is never too late to pursue new things. I am so glad I did it.” JB
