Life lessons from Karla Estrada

One of the best lessons in life is learning how to enjoy the simple things,” said Kapamilya actress and TV host Karla Estrada.

“The most perfect time for me is when I am able to have all of my kids with me. We’d just stay in my room and watch movies together,” she said at the recent launch of Danarra Aromatherapy Oils at the Grand Hyatt BGC in Taguig City.

However, getting the family together is a bit of a challenge for Karla: Her eldest son, Daniel Padilla, is always busy with work, while her two daughters, Margaret and Carmela, are still in school.

Her constant companion these days is her second son, Carlito, who has just graduated from the Mapua Institute of Technology.

When they do get the chance to get together, Karla takes her children on vacation.
“We don’t need to spend a lot. We just have to be together,” she said.

Another lesson she imparted was generosity, saying, “If you are generous, you will get all the blessings.”

And one of the things she splurges on for others is food.

When asked how she relieves stress, Karla quipped: “Buffet! I can now afford it anyway. So I also invite my friends to tag along with me.”

But when she needs to destress alone, her choices are “a glass of wine, and my favorite music.”—ARMIN P. ADINA
