WATCH: Paul McCartney, Jimmy Fallon make fans freak out at 30 Rock elevator
What would you do if you are only inches away from Paul McCartney?
The Beatles legend and Jimmy Fallon thought it would be fun to freak out tourists aboard the 30 Rockefeller Center elevators in New York, as seen in a “The Tonight Show” segment aired Thursday night.
Fallon explained that when the elevator door opens, people will get to see him and McCartney. The duo did various activities such as chilling in their comfortable seats while reading the paper, playing ping pong and even their attempt at the “What’s the Fluff” challenge.
And just like any die-hard fan, they had mixed reactions of shock and surprise. Some even tried to get closer to the music legend, but were reminded that they were on tour.
“I was going to marry Paul McCartney,” one tourist said. “So that’s the closest thing that I’ve ever got and I am thrilled!”
For their final antic, the two did a rendition of The Beatles’ classic “Drive My Car,” with McCartney on guitar and Fallon on tambourine. Unfortunately, no person was inside the elevator to be surprised.
McCartney recently released his 17th studio album “Egypt Station,” his first of new material since 2013’s “New.” /ra
