Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban admit they do feel pressure from fans who ask them to rekindle their past romance.
Panganiban said she reads comments from diehard fans urging her and Aquino to get back together. “Nakakapressure din (I feel pressured),” the actress said in a press conference for their upcoming movie “Exes Baggage”, posted by Glitz Ph on YouTube on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
“So pag nagkabalikan pala kami, kami ang patunay,” Panganiban joked. When asked about how the comments affect their relationship, the actress answered, “Syempre mas maganda hindi magpadala.”
(So if we do get back together, we’re the proof. Of course, it’s better not to be affected.)
Aquino believes in letting the natural course of things take control. “Mangyayari kung anong dapat mangyari. Kumbaga sinasabi namin na ine-enjoy lang namin yung company ng isa’t isa,” he explained.
(Whatever happens will happen. We’re just enjoying each other’s company.)
So how does Aquino and Panganiban maintain a healthy and close relationship despite being an ex-couple? The actor explained that he still checks up on her at times even when Panganiban already had another boyfriend.
“Yung communication nado-doon pa rin pero hindi kasing dalas ng ngayon dahil halos araw-araw nga kami magkasama.”
(The communication is still there, but not as frequent as now since we see each other everyday.)
Aquino and Panganiban were a real-life couple in their teenage years. They are set to star in “Exes Baggage”, which serves as their reunion movie, opening in theaters Sept. 26. Katrina Hallare/JB
