Kanye West bares his priorities once he becomes US president
If I decide to do it, it will be done,” said Kanye West, when recently asked if he still wanted to run for president of the United States.
The hip-hop artist, who first declared that he wanted to seek public office at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, is now reportedly setting his sights on the 2024 elections. One of his main concerns, he said, is health care and improving the medical industry.
“One of my main things, once I’m president, is the medical industry,” Kanye said in an interview with Power 92, a radio station in his native Chicago. “I’ll make sure that the medical industry flourishes.”
It’s something close to the heart of the 41-year-old star, who also talked about how he deals with his bipolar disorder. “I haven’t taken medication in five months, and I’m talking to you calmly,” he related. “I get my sleep. I don’t drink a lot of alcohol. I drink a lot of water. I work on my diet and on my mind.”
But more than anything, it’s love that keeps me going. “I talk and be around people who love me. You need love. The world needs love, especially sensitive people with so-called mental health issues.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
