Danica McKellar, the ex-child actress known for playing Winnie Cooper in the coming-of-age drama series “The Wonder Years,” continues to act, appearing in Lifetime and Hallmark TV specials. She voices the superheroine Miss Martian in the “Young Justice” cartoons, as well.
McKellar, now 43, has a career outside show biz, having authored eight mathematics books, to date.
Has her 7-year-old son, Draco, been bitten by the acting bug, too? In her recent Instagram post, McKellar said, “I have a zombie child,” referring to the boy’s interest in playing a zombie, and landing a role as such in the series, “Z Nation.”
“Guys, Draco did his first acting gig yesterday, and this was his trailer,” the excited actress-author said, referring to pictures of her kid in full monster makeup. She documented his transformation and part of his time on the set via her Stories.
But, McKellar also clarified, “Before you ask… although he did a great job, no, I am not pursuing an acting career for him at this time. If he wants to (and that is unclear), of course I would consider it, but I’m not going to push for anything. I have a feeling he’s going to be great at a lot of [other] things.”
