Priyanka takes Nick home to mama

After Nick Jonas recently confirmed that he and actress Priyanka Chopra are, indeed, engaged, the couple flew to Mumbai, India, to take part in what’s called a “Roka,” an Indian prewedding ceremony.

There, Nick met Priyanka’s parents, who appeared to be very impressed and approving of the “Jealous” singer.

“He’s calm and mature. I always trust Priyanka’s judgment; she’s not impulsive. She gave it a lot of thought. I was sure it would be good,” Priyanka’s mother, Madhu, told DNA India. “Everyone in the family just loves him. He’s so polite toward elders. What more can a mother want?”

She likewise appreciates Nick’s respect for Indian traditions. “It was a new thing for him, and he took it seriously. He chanted the Sanskrit mantras accurately … beautifully,” said Madhu, who has nothing but good words for Nick’s parents, who also made the trip. “They’re nice people.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
