Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up Miriam Quiambao shared the good news that she and husband Eduardo “Ardy” Roberto Jr. are expecting their first baby.
“Thanking God for the miracle of life and for answering our prayers. Ardy @ardyroberto and I have been praying to get pregnant for the past four years,” wrote Quiambao in a post she shared via Instagram today, Aug. 19. The ecstatic mother-to-be uploaded a photo of her sonogram.
“In June 2018, we were resigned that perhaps God will answer our prayers through the miracle of adoption or through [in-vitro fertilization] IVF but Praise God who is the author of miracles and the creator of life!” said the beauty queen.
Quiambao, 43-years-old, revealed that their first child was conceived naturally. “By His grace, He rewarded our faith with the greatest gift: a baby conceived naturally!”
The nine-week pregnant beauty queen stated that there is more to the story behind her pregnancy which she will be sharing on her blog soon. She also thanked all those who have prayed for her and her husband, asking them to pray for her and Roberto to have a safe and healthy pregnancy.
Fans were quick to congratulate Quiambao. Her well-wishers also include her celebrity friends Cheska Kramer, Trisha Centenera and Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean “MJ” Lastimosa.
Actress Carmi Martin also congratulated Quiambao: “I’m so happy for you. Congratulations and may [you] conceive a baby that will be healthy and beautiful like Mama.”
Some fans who share the couple’s Christian faith praised God for Quiambao’s pregnancy. One netizen said that while it may appear that Quiambao may be late to conceive at the age of 43, Abraham’s wife Sarah got pregnant with Isaac at 90. Another fan shared that she too experienced a hard time conceiving but was able to get pregnant naturally like Quiambao.
Miriam Quiambao tied the knot with widower Christian author and motivational speaker Ardy Roberto in 2014. Unlike Quiambao who did not have a child with her ex-husband, Italian Claudio Rondinelli, Roberto has a son, Joshua, with his first wife. JB
