Sharon Cuneta recalls how her romance with Richard Gomez blossomed

Now that they have an upcoming movie together, Sharon Cuneta got nostalgic and revealed her romance with Richard Gomez blossomed back in the day.
The Megastar thought it best to finally make the big reveal via her Instagram on Thursday. She first posted a throwback video of herself and Gomez, who was a guest star in her now-defunct “The Sharon Cuneta Show.”
“This was our first appearance together since he started calling and visiting me na!” Cuneta revealed, adding that it was also the time he finally asked her out.
Cuneta, who at the time could not stop gushing about their romance, said she had his shirt which he wore in that performance and which “I put inside his pillowcase with his pillow and every night nilalagyan ng pabango niya (I sprayed it with his perfume).” But years later, Cuneta saw the same shirt already being worn by a distant relative.

Not stopping there, Cuneta recalled how she and Gomez would stroll at Greenbelt Park in Makati City so they could be just like “regular people.” She also remembered how he would see his car on Edsa right from her condominium’s window. He would even call her just to say good night.

In another post, Cuneta reposted from a fan account a footage of them singing “Please Be Careful with My Heart” on her 24th birthday TV special. “Mga almost [three] months pa lang kami dyan hahahahaha (We’re almost three months there as a couple)!” she said.

The two lovers eventually separated. Gomez is now married to Lucy Torres, while Cuneta to Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
The two are set to make a movie together—their first in 15 years after 2003’s “Walang Kapalit” under director Joel Lamangan. This time, they will be joined by Kathryn Bernardo and Cathy Garcia-Molina. Cuneta added that their movie will be out by November this year. /ra
