Routh and Momoa, old soccer buddies
Brandon Routh recently posted on Instagram a photo of himself as Superman beside a photo of “Justice League” star Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and confirmed that they were schoolmates back in high school.
“It’s true! [Jason Momoa] and I did grow up in [Iowa] and played on [the Norwalk Boys Soccer] team!”
Routh, who played the Man of Steel in 2006’s “Superman Returns,” is appearing in “Legends of Tomorrow” as another DC Comics hero, the size-shifting Atom.
Routh also expressed elation that they were at the recent San Diego Comic-Con.
Momoa and Routh, both born in 1979, started their acting careers in the late ’90s.

The fact that they were in school together is hardly a secret. In 2015, both actors were at the same event, and Momoa uploaded the photo with the caption, “Good ol’ Iowa boys.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
