WATCH: Ariana Grande channels best Celine Dion impersonation on ‘Carpool Karaoke’
Ariana Grande does not only have the golden voice but also the best Celine Dion impersonation.
The pop star gave her best impersonation of the Canadian superstar in a new “Carpool Karaoke” segment in “The Late Late Show with James Corden” posted on YouTube Wednesday.
She first shared that as a child, she would listen to what she called “the divas”—Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Dion. Grande belted “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” one of Dion’s signature hits. Corden looked stunned and impressed with the impersonation.
Aside from the impersonation, Grande and Corden talked about birthday parties since the singer just turned 25. She shared that on her second birthday, she had a “Jaws”-themed party. “No kids came, they came and left,” Grande recalled.
Grande also shared the weirdest gossip articles she would read about herself: pregnancy stories. “People really want me to be pregnant,” she said. “They want it so bad. Every other week, there’s like a pregnancy thing.”
Corden also pointed out the rumor that Grande insists to be carried by her bodyguard, which she later said was false. Making a spoof out of it, the late-night talk show host gave the singer a piggy-back ride as they bought a drink at a local Starbucks. Grande joked to the customers: “That’s the kind of pop star I am.”
While they had fun during the segment, both belted out Grande’s hits such as “Dangerous Woman,” “Side to Side” and “God Is a Woman,” among others. /ra
