GMA headwriter Suzette Doctolero, whose oeuvre includes “Encantadia,” “Amaya” and “Indio,” among others, has taken to Twitter recently to defend the hospital scene in Kambal, Karibal’s finale. “Kambal, Karibal” debuted on television back in November 2017 and after nine months, aired its last episode last Friday, Aug. 3.
Many netizens took to social media during the finale of “Kambal, Karibal,” with the hashtag #KKUnDyingFinale being the top trending topic on Twitter that time.
One netizen, however, took to his Twitter to point out one scene in the last episode wherein Bianca Umali, who plays “Crisanta,” cried over her dying twin sister, “Criselda,” played by Pauline Mendoza.
In the picture, a long tube can be seen attached to Mendoza’s mouth. “Bakit siya nakakabit sa washing machine,” wrote the netizen (@Jasfher).

The netizen’s tweet garnered around 32,000 favorites and almost 5,000 replies, with many poking fun at the scene.
However, another netizen, a certain Nate (@nathanserrano), retweeted the post on Aug. 4 and tagged Doctolero in the process.
“Madam @SuziDoctolero are they wrong??” asked the netizen.

Doctolero replied to the netizen on the same day and clarified that it was legitimate.
“Yes. Confirmed na legit yan,” wrote Doctolero. “At tama. Ganyan talaga itsura nung ginagamit na tubing sa ospital. So wrong ang mga mema dyan sa tweet na yan.”
“Sama sama sila, wala man lang [umalam] sa totoo except sa isa.”

One netizen, however, told Doctolero that it was really wrong.
“Sorry pero mali po yan,” wrote a certain Ram (@rmv0123) last Aug. 5. “Hindi po pinapasok ang buong endotracheal tube. May certain level po depending on the size. Dito po kasi pasok lahat, pati ang [connector].”
“You could have asked the assistance of a nurse/doctor,” added the netizen.

Doctolero wrote back to the netizen, making clear that the production did get assistance from a real nurse for the scene.
“May nag assist na nurse sa production,” said Doctolero. “Totoong nurse. Di peke.” /ra
