Megastar Sharon Cuneta paid a visit to one of her biggest fans, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio before her “Sharon 40th Philippine Tour” concert.

The singer/actress had dinner and chatted with the mayor before her August 3 concert. Duterte is a self-confessed “Sharonian.”

In social media posts from Davao City Information Officer Jefry Tupas, the mayor was seen warmly welcoming her idol in Davao.

FEATURED STORIES

In an Instagram post, Mayor Duterte herself posted a photo of them together as she shared a little story of how big a Sharon fan she was since she was little.

“My very first cassette tape was a Sharon Cuneta @reallysharoncunetaalbum. In 1988, I pleaded with Digong if I could meet her when she visited Davao. She was 22 years old then and was very kind to me when I was a starstrucked 10 year old. You are still the gracious person from 30 years ago but I feel that you are happier now 😊 ❤ Davao will always welcome you. Happy 40 years in showbusiness!” she wrote.

Cuneta will stage her biggest and “hardest” concert ever, dubbed the “Big One,” at the Araneta Coliseum on September 28 and 29 in celebration of her 40 years in the industry.

Aside from that, she will also tour the Philippines to stage shows.
