After her health scare while shooting in Indonesia, Kris Aquino is back in good shape and announced that she is all set to walk the red carpet for the Hollywood premiere of the film “Crazy Rich Asians”.

The Queen of All Media shared her joy with her fans on Instagram, Aug. 1: “The ‘tigas ulo/bawal sumuko/kakayanin lahat‘ in me hindi nagpatinag (The hard-headed/persistent/resilient in me never gave up),” Aquino wrote.

Aquino added that she, her sons Josh and Bimby, her team and her doctor are set to fly at the Hollywood premiere of the Warner Bros. film, “Crazy Rich Asians”. She was visibly happy as she described the movie being “ground breaking,” since the cast consists mostly of Asians.

“I couldn’t allow that we PINOYS wouldn’t be represented,” Aquino assured her followers. “[H]angarin ng puso ko na mabitbit ang bandila ng [Pilipinas] in a movie highlighting Asian [c]ulture (It’s my heart’s desire to carry the Philippine flag in a movie highlighting Asian Culture).”

Several political and entertainment personalities extended their support to Aquino recently, too, regarding her health. In another post, Aquino revealed that Taguig City mayor Lani Cayetano was instructed by her husband, foreign affairs secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, to assist her in any possible way. She said of the gesture, “[I]n a country divided by what ‘color’ you are, [I] personally experienced that KINDNESS is more powerful than politics.”

Even the country’s Vice President Leni Robredo expressed concern about her health, according to Aquino, and reached out to have “close communication” with her.

Aside from them, Megastar Sharon Cuneta sent her flowers and personalized note cards. Darren Espanto personally delivered to her some chocolates.

But the grandest gesture may have come from “Wowowin” host Willie Revillame, who told her she can stay at his “mansion” to rest.

Aquino has earlier given fans a glimpse of what role she will play in “Crazy Rich Asians”, which is the movie adaptation of the bestselling novel by Kevin Kwan. She revealed that her role, in a way, will honor her mom, the late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino. JB
