Thai cave rescue documentary airs Monday night on Discovery
The Thai cave drama that captured the world’s attention is now a television documentary.
Discovery’s “Operation Thai Cave Rescue” unpacks the human and scientific drama behind one of the most difficult and heart-palpitating rescues attempted in human history.
Set to air 9 p.m. on Monday, July 23, on Discovery Channel, the documentary follows the story of 12 young Thai football players and their 25-year-old coach who were stuck in a cave complex in northern Thailand for over two weeks until two British divers were able to locate them that led to their subsequent rescue.
“Operation Thai Cave Rescue” offers exclusive early access to family members and the rescue team who were tasked to extract the boys from the flooded Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai.
It paints a full picture of what the boys and their rescuers experienced during what was thought initially to be an impossible feat.
