DOT controversy aside, Cesar set to do 3 movies

Cesar Montano

It’s always such a delight to bond with my BFF Buboy (Cesar Montano) and the rest of the Manhilot (Buboy’s real surname) family. His screen name was derived from his middle name Dmontaño). I am overjoyed to be their adopted sister.

I have never seen Buboy more relaxed and at peace. He held a “miniconcert” in his place, complete with a pianist. His love affair with music goes on and on. He sang his heart out as he strummed the guitar.

Buboy is raring to do movies again. There will always be room in the biz for a multiawarded actor like him. If plans materialize, he will be shooting three films soon. For now, he’s just busy being happy.

(Cesar resigned as Tourism Promotions Board chief in May amid the P80-million “Buhay Carinderia” project controversy.)

Benjie’s quirky humor

My good friend Benjie Paras totally cracked me up with our convo. Here goes:

What do you think about Kiefer Ravena’s 18-month Fiba suspension? It’s exaj (exaggerated), as if Kief were a criminal. Pre-workout drinks can cause more harm than good. During my time in the PBA, I only drank coffee before a game. When I wanted to feel sosyal, I would drink hot chocolate.

Is that why you won Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Rookie of the Year at the same time? It was just perfect timing when I joined the PBA. But come to think of it, perhaps that coffee was a factor, too. I should apply to be an endorser of that brand. The theme of the ad will be “throwback” (laughs).

That’s too hilarious not to post on my sites. Will tag you. You can’t tag me because I have no social media account. I’m old school. I don’t allow my kids to tinker with their phones during mealtime. They’re wise. They no longer eat with me.

James back in fighting form

I’m happy for my amigo James Yap. He’s back in fighting form. James was named best player of his team Rain or Shine’s do-or-die game versus Global Port in the PBA’s Commissioner’s Cup.

Now that he and the rest of ROS are in the semifinals against the league’s most popular team, Ginebra San Miguel, James will no doubt continue to sizzle. When I congratulated him, his funny reply was: “Just the thought of how rough and tough the games in the semis will be makes me tired already.”

ABS-CBN won a Gold Quill Award of Excellence at the International Association of Business Communicators Gold Quill Awards in Canada for its “Wow at Saya” audience-experience program. It ensures an unforgettable visit for the studio audiences of “It’s Showtime” and “ASAP.”
