Maine Mendoza, Vice Ganda among Twitter PH’s top trending celebs for 1st half 2018

Maine Mendoza, Vice Ganda, Darren Espanto and other stars have been recognized by Twitter Philippines as top trenders for the first half of 2018.

The social media site congratulated the stars who have been most talked-about and who helped shape the local entertainment scene, in a series of posts last Friday, July 6.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s “Never Not Love You” was the most talked-about movie from January to June of this year. It was followed by Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador’s “My Fairy Tale Love Story”, Kim Chiu and Ryan Bang’s “Da One That Ghost Away”, Xian Lim and Coleen Garcia’s “Sin Island” and Carlo Aquino and Bela Padilla’s “Meet Me In St. Gallen”.

Meanwhile, Espanto ruled the OPM scene, becoming the top-trending music artist, according to Twitter. Nadine Lustre, IV of Spades, Moira Dela Torre and duo JV Kapunan and Miho Nishida completed the top five.

Dubsmash Queen and “Eat Bulaga” mainstay Maine Mendoza is still Twitter’s number one female celebrity. Meanwhile, comedian Vice Ganda of rival noontime show “It’s Showtime” also grabbed the top spot for male celebrity, for the success of his concerts and his cosmetics line.

Even after the “Eat Bulaga” segment “Kalyeserye” has long ended, AlDub — the tandem of Mendoza and Alden Richards — was still unbeatable as the most-talked about love team. They are only weeks away from celebrating the third anniversary of their onscreen partnership.

ABS-CBN’s fantasy series “Bagani” starring Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano is the most tweeted-about teleserye.

Completing the list is “Wild Flower”, “Kambal Karibal”, “Since I Found You” and “Sherlock Jr.” JB
