The episode of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” last July 9 had many of its fans feeling a lot of emotions. The episode, which showed the “death” scene of Cardo, Coco Martin’s character, saw many thinking whether this could be the end of the three-year-long series. This was quickly shot down, however, when Cardo’s death turned out to be only a dream by his ex-wife Alyana (Yassi Pressman).

In the mentioned episode, Cardo was shown firing bullets at the goons of the evil Marco on a bridge. He was caught off guard by Marco, however, after the latter fired at him from the other side of the bridge. Cardo vomited blood as he was showered with bullets, eventually falling on his back, which ostensibly showed his demise. As Alyana  cried over Cardo’s dead body, the scene cut to Alyana waking up from a bad dream.

FEATURED STORIES

One netizen (@zzzzeddyy) took to Twitter on July 9 and wrote, “The year is 2035. You’re watching Ang Probinsyano. Ricardo Dalisay was finally shot by a world famous enemy. You thought it was the end of the show, but the scene shifts into a province. There stands Ricardia Flor Dalisay, his long lost daughter from episode 1487.”

“Me on a job interview. HR: How do you see urself 10 yrs from now? ME: 10 yrs from now, I’d probably see myself sitting on my couch every night after work while watching Ang Probinsyano and telling my kids how Cardo met Alyana,” wrote a certain Choi (@choi_idong).

One Ken (@Poteytoooo) also shared a piece of his mind. “You wake up in a 10-year coma. You switch the TV on. “Ang Probinsyano; huling dalawang linggo.

One netizen appeared more impassioned than the rest. “I AM CONVINCED. CARDO IS A F*CKIN IMMORTAL,” wrote one Gabb (@whatevergabb). “ANG PROBINSYANO WILL NEVER END. EVEN MY GRANDSON’S GRANDSON WILL STILL BE ABLE TO WATCH IT. ANG PROBINSYANO SEASON 67382.”

“A cat has 9 lives,” wrote a certain Justine (@juhsstn). “But Ang Probinsyano had 718 episodes and Cardo’s still freaking alive.”

Another netizen named Sharon (@_sharonaniciete) wasn’t that impressed with the fake blood in the scene.

“ANG PROBINSYANO, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PUT OYSTER SAUCE ON CARDO’S MOUTH?!?! NEXT TIME MAKE IT REALISTIC, 2018 NAAA.”

Meanwhile, a certain Austin (@Probotype), seemed to underhype “Ang Probinsyano” as he wrote, “Replace ‘Ang Probinsyano’ with Judy Ann’s Kitchen and watch as the entire Philippines slowly become a better country.”

But despite the “death” scene that had many thinking the end of “Ang Probinsyano” was nearing, ABS-CBN Head of Corporate Communication Kane Errol Ochoa shared this month that the series won’t be ending anytime soon.

Coco Martin and the show’s writers are enjoying the process of coming up with creative ideas to make the story more compelling, as well as collaborating with the cast and the production team,” said Ochoa. “FPJAP continues to enjoy high viewership every night, and our Kapamilyas can expect new twists and characters as it goes into its third year.”  /ra
