Joshua Garcia, Julia Barretto play undercover
Kapamily love team Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto revealed they have this habit of monitoring not only their movie’s box-office performance but also, going into movie houses to see for themselves the viewers’ real-time feedback about their masterpiece.
“Kailangan i-monitor [It needs to be monitored],” Barretto said in a recent intimate presscon with select members of the entertainment press for their movie “I love You Hater.”
“Tinetext ko din yung Star kung magkano na yung kinita. May ginagawa din kami ni Jul, like sa Rockwell manonood kami, tinigtignan namin yung reaction ng tao pero secretly,” said Garcia.
(I also texted Star Cinema about the movie’s sales performance. Julia and I, we also do watch our movie in malls like Rockwell to see people’s reaction but we do it secretly)
The two test their movie’s appeal toward different markets by going to malls normally frequented by a certain social class.

There are instances that this joke seems corny to the upper class while on the other hand, it sells to the masses)
Garcia and Barretto co-star with Queen of All Media Kris Aquino. Directed by Giselle Andres and produced by Star Cinema, “I Love You Hater” hits cinemas starting July 11. /jpv
