Among the celebrities who showed up at the recent pride parade in Marikina City was actress Janine Gutierrez, joining thousands of revelers who came to honor and uphold equal rights—particularly, for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Last year, it was Superstar Nora Aunor, who happens to be the mom of Janine’s mother, Lotlot de Leon, who graced the festive event.

This year, it was the turn of Janine, who gleefully took to social media, to share her own “pride” moment with her friends and followers.

Janine told the Inquirer: “I just wanted to show my support for the LGBT community and celebrate pride. I strongly believe in equal rights for everyone, and I think it’s very important to be vocal about it.”

The stunning star explained: “Equality should be a right, not a privilege—and all kinds of love should be celebrated.”

Needless to say, mom Lotlot is brimming with, well, pride that her eldest daughter grew up with a kind, gentle and loving heart that embraces everyone, regardless of color, creed or gender identity.

Lotlot asserted: “That’s good! I’m happy and proud that my children know that love is love… That it has no labels and that everyone has the right to love. I am glad that my children are also willing to stand up and walk beside those who are fighting for their rights!”—BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
